Motive, Samsara and Geotab publish no price
All three quote by fleet size. What each pricing page actually does, what the federal register records under each name, and three registered rivals that print a price.
The short answer
None of Motive, Samsara or Geotab publishes a price. On 19 October 2026 Motive's pricing URL opened a contact form, Samsara's a fleet-size quiz, and Geotab's returned a 404 beside a "Get pricing" request; Azuga published $25 to $35 per vehicle per month. The register is the comparison you can make before the first call: 1 device listed under Motive, 2 under Samsara, 6 under Geotab, and no removal under any of the three names.
How Motive, Samsara and Geotab sell to a small fleet
Motive sells direct: its pricing address redirects to a get-in-touch form. Samsara sells direct after a fleet-size question that starts at 1 to 5 vehicles, which tells you it does want very small fleets. Geotab runs its sales through partners and resellers, so two quotes for the same Geotab hardware can come from two different companies. Verizon Connect and Omnitracs, the other two large names, also returned a 404 at /pricing.
None of that is a criticism. Quote-only pricing is how large fleet platforms sell, and each of the three has a real case: Samsara's question invites fleets of one to five, Motive's single registered device keeps the choice simple, and Geotab's hardware is the base that other registered brands build on.
What the FMCSA register shows for each vendor
| Vendor | Registered devices | ELD identifiers | Removals under this name | Published price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MotiveMotive Technologies, Inc. | 1 | MOTIVE | none | quote only |
| SamsaraSamsara Inc. | 2 | SAMELD, SAMNI1 | none | quote only |
| GeotabGeotab Inc. | 6 | GEOTAB, FORD01, DAIM01, NVSRN2, MACK01... | none | quote only |
| Verizon ConnectVerizon Connect | 9 | TC3640, INTNV2, RAG530, RAXI31, RIXI20... | none | quote only |
| OmnitracsOmnitracs, LLC | 7 | IVG001, AMG001, AMG002, REL002, XRSAN1... | 30 by FMCSA, 3 self | quote only |
| AzugaAzuga, Inc. / Azuga | 8 | HOS001, AZELD1, AZELD2 | 240 by FMCSA, 24 self | yes |
| TruckXTruckX Inc | 3 | TXELD4, TRX300, TRXW20 | 11 by FMCSA, 0 self | yes |
| Lucid ELDLucid ELD | 1 | L12NJ8 | none | yes |
More devices is not better. Verizon Connect's count reflects several hardware generations; Motive's single filing reflects one current platform. The column that says something about a vendor is the removal record, and none of the three named here has a removal under its own name.
Three registered rivals that publish prices
Azuga prints BasicFleet at $25, SafeFleet at $30 and CompleteFleet at $35 per vehicle per month, with a SafetyCam AI add-on at $41.99 a month; its pricing page does not say whether ELD logging is included. Lucid ELD prints $50 to $89 per truck per month across its Standard and Premium plans. TruckX sells a $139 device with $27 a month paid yearly, as last readable on 14 October 2026. Year-one cost for one truck is drawn in ELDs for owner-operators.
Samsara's own question starts at 1 to 5 vehicles; Lucid publishes a per-truck price you can hold the quote against.
Direct sales, one registered platform, no removal under its name on the FMCSA list.
Resellers price independently, so a second quote on the same hardware is the cheapest negotiation you have.
Both print prices. Ask Azuga whether ELD logging is in the plan before comparing.

Prices and statements were read from each vendor's own page on 19 October 2026 and are quoted as published; where a vendor publishes no price we say so, and where a vendor's page did not serve a figure to our reader that day we print the last date we could read it. Register status is read from FMCSA's registered and revoked ELD lists, retrieved 19 October 2026, and recomputed every time this page is built. We did not buy, install or run any of these devices or services for this page. Compiled and verified by Vincent Wesley Couey. We describe what each pricing address did; we make no claim about features a vendor renders only in a browser.
